I think we recognize some of the others, but they are changing so quickly now, there won't many that we know very soon.

In Abancay, you know the legacy that the Sandbergs left. They are much loved there. We were lucky to get to Abancay while they were still there, and they ran us up and down the hill til we were ragged, out of breath, and shaky knees. I thought Elder Hasler was tough til I met Elder Sandberg. I thought he was tough til I met Hna Sandberg, she just goes nonstop. Our cell phone/WiFi reception was so bad one evening that Elder Sandberg stood out in the street in line-of-sight with my computer to get a signal while we worked, for nearly an hour. It was a delight to get to know them, and the members in Abancay.

Our one trip to Andahuaylas got cut short because of some violence at one of the mines in the region (a few people were killed). We got a call from Elder Hasler very late one night, advising us to get back to Cusco ASAP, so we left very early the next morning, and never got to return. Very scenic, but again, one of the very long drives that extended Hna Johnson right to the very limit of her endurance.

BTW, you can actually fly from Cusco to Andahuaylas - but you have to route through Lima, so it is about as big a hassle as driving.
